Quantum State Sculptor Methodology

Representation v1 is a transparent explanatory encoding: a deterministic computational-basis backbone, probability branches, phase ticks, selected density-matrix ribbons, and explicitly labelled metrics.

Fixed basis field

One through three qubits use exact symmetric layouts. Four through eight use a bitstring-stable Fibonacci/Gray-code layout. A component cannot move merely because its amplitude changes.

Probability and phase

For amplitude aᵢ, pᵢ = |aᵢ|² controls branch length, radius, and endpoint volume with square-root scaling. arg(aᵢ) drives cyclic hue and a geometric tick, so monochrome presentation retains phase information.

Coherence and mixedness

Ribbons represent the strongest off-diagonal density terms. v1 shows terms with |ρᵢⱼ| ≥ 0.04, up to 48 terms; the inspector discloses omissions. Core clarity maps to purity Tr(ρ²); a separate halo maps to mixedness.

Entanglement language

The outer metric is the entropy of the selected first-qubit-versus-rest reduction. It is labelled as such. Pairwise correlations are not called entanglement, and a visual pattern is never proof of entanglement.

Canonical input

Pure statevectors are validated, normalized only on explicit request, then global-phase canonicalized by making the first nonzero amplitude real and non-negative. Tolerance: 1e−10. Computational bitstrings are big-endian.

Limits

Pure states: 8 qubits and 256 gates. Density/noise: 5 qubits. Full visual detail through 6 qubits; 7–8 show the 96 largest components plus an aggregate remainder. Majorana is reserved for a future symmetric-state comparison, not used as a universal multiqubit mapping.
